Grades, Shapes and Sizes

Milk, juice, water, wine, chemicals and fuels each put different demands on the steel grade, the internal finish, the fittings and the way the tank is cleaned.

We build stainless tanks only, in 304, 316, 316L and higher alloys, with no carbon steel in our workshop to contaminate the surface. Tanks are built round or square, vertical or horizontal, from 100L to 250kL in our workshop, depending on configuration, and larger tanks, up to 1.9ML, are fabricated in our workshop and assembled on site, on request.

What Goes Into Our Process and Storage Tanks

Steel Grade

We choose 304, 316, 316L or a higher alloy for the product and cleaning chemicals, and confirm it on the approval drawing.

Round or Square

Square tanks make the most of tight floor space. Round tanks suit pressure, mixing and cleaning. We build both.

Food-Grade Construction

Sanitary welds, drainable bottoms and CIP spray balls for tanks that hold food and beverage products.

Chemical Duty

Tanks for chemicals and fuels, with the grade, fittings and bunding connections your site needs.

Safe Access

We build ladders, operator platforms and safety rails onto the tank in our workshop.

Delivered Australia-wide

We deliver to every Australian state and territory, and larger tanks are fabricated in our workshop and assembled on site, on request.

Process and Storage Tank Options

Every tank is built to order.

Materials	304 and 316 stainless steel, including 316L, and higher alloys
Capacity	100L to 250kL built in our workshop, depending on configuration; larger tanks, up to 1.9ML, fabricated in our workshop and assembled on site, on request
Shapes	Round or square; vertical or horizontal; flat, dish or conical bottoms
Finish	Internal finish specified to suit your product, such as 2B mill finish or polished
Fittings	Manways, vents, level instruments, nozzles, valves and CIP spray balls to your drawing
Options	Jackets, insulation, agitators and mixers
Testing	Hydrostatic testing in our workshop, depending on the size of the tank, and dye penetrant testing in our workshop; radiography arranged through a NATA-accredited third party, and any other testing your specification calls for (for example borescope inspection, riboflavin coverage testing, surface finish (profilometer) checks and material verification) can be arranged through NATA-accredited third-party testers

How We Build a Tank

Specify
Tell us the product, volume, temperature and site. We recommend a grade, shape and fittings.

Design
We model the tank in 3D and issue approval drawings for your sign-off before fabrication.

Fabricate and Test
We build in our stainless-only workshop and inspect and test the tank before it leaves.
04
Deliver
We deliver the tank to your site, anywhere in Australia, freighted from our Murarrie workshop by Russell Transport.

What is the difference between 304 and 316 stainless?

316 contains molybdenum, which gives it better resistance to chlorides and many chemicals. 304 suits a wide range of food and water storage. We recommend the grade for your product and cleaning regime.

What sizes can you build?

From 100L to 250kL in our workshop, depending on configuration. Larger tanks, up to 1.9ML, are fabricated in our workshop and assembled on site, on request.

Do you build square tanks?

Yes. We build square and rectangular tanks where floor space is tight, as well as round vertical and horizontal tanks.

Can you build a tank for chemical storage?

Yes. We build chemical tanks in the stainless grade that suits the chemical. Tell us what you are storing and at what concentration and temperature.

Can you deliver interstate?

Yes. We deliver to every Australian state and territory.

How long does a storage tank take?

It depends on size, grade and fittings. We give you a delivery date with the quote.
