Stainless Steel Pressure Vessels

We design, fabricate and test custom stainless pressure vessels for process plants, with the drawings and test records your engineers and regulator expect.

Design, Welding and Testing

A pressure vessel carries more risk than an atmospheric tank, so the design, welding, testing and paperwork all have to stand up to scrutiny. We do the 3D model, the fabrication and the hydrostatic test ourselves.

We design pressure vessels in house to AS 1210, with each design verified by a third-party RPEQ, and can arrange design registration where your state requires it. Vessels are built in 304, 316, 316L and higher alloys in our stainless-only workshop by welders qualified to our own weld procedures, which are qualified to AS/NZS 3992 and ASME IX. Each vessel is then pressure tested and given a pre-delivery inspection in our workshop before it leaves.

What You Get With Our Pressure Vessels

Design and Drawings

We model the vessel in 3D and issue approval drawings showing shell, heads, nozzles and supports before fabrication starts.

Stainless Welding

Orbital, TIG, MIG and flux-cored welding by our own stainless fabricators.

Dye Penetrant and Radiography

We carry out dye penetrant testing of welds in our workshop, and radiography is arranged through a NATA-accredited third party, so defects are found before the vessel is closed up. The results go into your MDR.

Hydrostatic Pressure Testing

Vessels are hydrostatically or air tested in our workshop before delivery.

Third-Party Testing

Any other testing your specification calls for (for example radiography, borescope inspection, riboflavin coverage testing, surface finish (profilometer) checks and material verification) can be arranged through NATA-accredited third-party testers, with the results in your MDR.

Sanitary Where You Need It

Hygienic internals and CIP spray balls for vessels used in food, dairy and pharmaceutical processing.

How We Build a Pressure Vessel

  1. 01

    Design

You give us the duty: product, pressure, temperature and volume. We design the vessel and issue drawings for approval.

  2. 02

    Fabricate

Our welders build the vessel in our stainless-only workshop against the approved drawings.

  3. 03

    Inspect and Test

We carry out dye penetrant testing of welds in our workshop and arrange radiography through a NATA-accredited third party. Then we pressure test the finished vessel by hydrostatic or air test and carry out a pre-delivery inspection in our workshop.

  4. 04

    Deliver

We deliver the vessel to your site, anywhere in Australia, with its records.

Questions About Pressure Vessels

For anything else, call (07) 3348 9444.

Do you design pressure vessels to AS 1210?

Yes. We design to AS 1210 in house, and each design is verified by a third-party RPEQ. We can also arrange design registration with the regulator in your state.

What documents come with the vessel?

Every vessel comes with a manufacturer's data report with material certificates, weld procedures and NDT records. Approval drawings and test records for the vessel, including the hydrostatic test, can be supplied on request, depending on what you need.

Does my tank need to be a pressure vessel?

If it will operate above atmospheric pressure, it probably does. Send us your operating pressure and temperature and we will tell you what applies.

Can you design a vessel for another fabricator to build?

Yes. We can produce the 3D model and drawings whether or not we build the vessel.

Do you test the vessel before delivery?

Yes. Every vessel is pressure tested in our workshop, by hydrostatic test depending on the size of the vessel, or by air test, and given a pre-delivery inspection. We carry out dye penetrant testing of the welds in our workshop, and where the design calls for it, radiography is arranged through a NATA-accredited third party. Any other testing your specification calls for (for example borescope inspection, riboflavin coverage testing, surface finish (profilometer) checks and material verification) can be arranged through NATA-accredited third-party testers. You and your inspector are welcome to witness the tests at our workshop.

Can you deliver interstate?

Yes. We deliver to every Australian state and territory.

How long does a pressure vessel take?

It depends on the design, materials and any registration needed. We give you a programme with the quote.
