How do you choose the stainless grade for a chemical?
From what the tank will hold, its concentration and its temperature. Send us the product details and safety data sheet and we recommend 304, 316, 316L or a higher alloy.
Do you build tanks for fuel and petroleum products?
Yes. We build petroleum tanks, with fixtures and fittings suited to the product.
How are chemical tanks tested?
Hydrostatic testing (depending on the size of the tank) or air pressure testing, plus dye penetrant testing and a pre-delivery inspection, all in our workshop. Radiography is arranged through a NATA-accredited third party where the job needs it. Other testing your specification calls for, such as borescope inspection, riboflavin coverage testing, surface finish (profilometer) checks and material verification, can be arranged through NATA-accredited third-party testers. The results go into your manufacturer's data report.
Which standards are your chemical tanks built to?
Tanks are designed to the standard that applies to your product and site. Tell us your requirements at quote stage.
Can you build safety rails and access onto the tank?
Yes. We build safety rails, guides and operator platforms onto the tank in our workshop.
Can you build to our drawings?
Yes. We can build to your drawings or design the tank for you, with 3D modelling and approval drawings either way.
